Creek Freak Fun at the Bike Summit Tomorrow
March 6, 2009 § Leave a comment
Even if you’re not also a bike freak (like me) there are some items that should be of interest to creek freaks at tomorrow’s Los Angeles Bike Summit. The summit will take place from 9am to 4pm tomorrow (Saturday March 7th 2009) at Los Angeles Trade Tech College in downtown Los Angeles. It’s free, including free t-shirt and free lunch (while supplies last.) There are some great guest speakers, from Mexico City, New York City, Portland, Davis, not to mention local experts from South L.A., Glassell Park, and Koreatown!
Of particular interest to creek freaks will be:
Tim Brick and Arturo Gonzalez of the Arroyo Seco Foundation will be leading a workshop called “Creating a Transportation Greenway along the Arroyo Seco Corridor in Northeast Los Angeles” This workshop takes place from 1pm to 2pm.
Alex Amerri, Jen Petersen and LA Creek Freak’s very own Joe Linton will be leading a short, easy free biking tour called “The City Beautiful” which shows off some of the great historic bridges in downtown Los Angeles. Ride departs LA Trade Tech College at 5pm, and finishes there by 7pm.
(Interested party note: I am being paid to assist in organizing and promoting the bike summit… though it is something I really believe in and am excited about!)
