FLOW (movie) Showing in LA Next Week

September 7, 2008 § 3 Comments

The documentary movie “FLOW” will be opening on September 12th at the Laemmle Sunset 5 theater (8000 West Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood CA 90069 at the southeast corner of Sunset Boulevard and Crescent Heights Boulevard). I haven’t seen this movie yet, but I have seen the trailer (watch it above.) There are various panel discussions featuring important local water leaders: Dorothy Green, Paula Daniels, David Nahai, Heal The Bay, Santa Monica Baykeeper and many others. Check here for the schedule. I plan to go with the Urban Semillas crew to catch the 3pm showing on Saturday September 13th.

From its website: the award-winning film “builds a case against the growing privatization of the world’s dwindling fresh water supply with an unflinching focus on politics, pollution, human rights, and the emergence of a domineering world water cartel.” and that it “gives viewers a look at the people and institutions providing practical solutions to the water crisis and those developing new technologies, which are fast becoming blueprints for a successful global and economic turnaround.”

After I’ve seen it, I’ll post my first movie review here. If you’ve seen it already, please comment and let us know what you thought
