This photo is taken where the LA River abuts South Gate, Lynwood, and Downey.  It was a reference photo for the South Gate Riparian Habitat Restoration Project mentioned in an earlier post.

    Excellent photo – I wonder if there are any upstream Rio Hondo aerial photos from 1932 in the archives? I’d like to pin down the location of some 1920’s infrastructure just upstream of the reference photo and an aerial shot like this one would do it.
