Sorry for late word on this one: the city of Los Angeles is hosting a grand opening and ribbon-cutting celebration for the Riverdale Avenue Green Street Project TODAY 2pm Wednesday September 29th 2010.
The event takes place today starting at 2pm at the Jardin del Rio Community Garden on Meadowvale Avenue in Elysian Valley. Luminaries will include Council President Eric Garcetti, Public Works Commissioner Paula Daniels, City Engineer Gary Moore, and Sanitation Bureau head Enrique Zaldivar. More event/project information at L.A. Team Effort – the city stormwater program’s blog. Creek Freak is hoping to head out to the opening this afternoon, and get a chance to celebrate another good rainwater project and to visit the excellent stretch of river there in Frogtown.
